How I Sold The Dream of Wealth, and How You Can Too!

When people ask me what I did for a living, I would always say one of two things:

I sold the secret stock that would make you rich or, I sold the golden dream.

As a financial copywriter, both were correct.

I sold subscriptions to financial newsletters using the dream of wealth and riches as the hook.

Every single promotion I wrote targeted regular everyday Americans whose goals were to save and invest their money correctly—but didn’t know where to turn or who to trust.

  4. Exclusivity and Urgency:The offer is limited to "the first 35 readers" and emphasizes a deadline ("expect our 35 open spaces to be gone long before tomorrow’s 24-hour deadline"), creating a sense of urgency and exclusivity that encourages quick action.Free Valuable Incentives:Offering free access to the No. 1 retirement stock and the complete buy list as incentives lowers the barrier to entry and adds immediate value, making the trial subscription more appealing.
  5. Detailed Benefits and Clear Value Proposition:The email outlines seven specific reasons why investing in Chinese and emerging markets is advantageous, providing a strong rationale for the reader to consider the advisory's recommendations.
  6. Clear and Direct Call-to-Action (CTA):Multiple CTAs are included ("Click here now to get the name of my No. 1 stock sent directly to your inbox FREE"), guiding the reader on exactly what to do next. The repetition of the CTA reinforces the desired action.
  7. Risk-Free Offer:The risk-free trial with a 100% money-back guarantee minimizes the perceived risk, making it easier for readers to commit without fear of loss.
  8. Personal Touch and Accessibility:The email is personalized with signatures from both editors, adding a human element. Offering one of the editor’s personal email for direct communication further enhances trust and accessibility.
  9. Reinforcement of Benefits Throughout:Throughout the email, benefits are reiterated, including potential high returns, access to exclusive content, and support, ensuring that the reader remains focused on the value proposition.

It was the combination of these elements that captured the reader’s attention, built trust, created urgency, and provided clear value, resulting in high engagement and a strong response from the readers.
